Affiliate Disclosure

Crema Lab participates in affiliate marketing programs. This page explains what that means, what we do with that money, and the lines we don't cross.

What is affiliate marketing?

When you click a link on Crema Lab to a retailer (for example, Amazon) and then buy a product, the retailer pays us a small commission. The product price you pay is identical whether you click our link or go to the retailer directly. We never mark up prices.

Programs we participate in

The site is built to support several affiliate networks. As of the current build, the Amazon Associates tracking ID in src/data/products.json is a placeholder; outbound links will only earn commission once that ID is replaced with an approved Associates tag. Planned programs:

  • Amazon Associates — "As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases."
  • Specialty retailer programs (e.g. Seattle Coffee Gear, Clive Coffee) via ShareASale, Impact, or CJ Affiliate as we get accepted into each.

What we will never do

  • Accept payment to write a positive review
  • Accept free products in exchange for guaranteed coverage
  • Rank products based on commission rate rather than merit
  • Hide negative findings about a product because it earns us commission

Our verdict on a product is independent of which retailer pays the highest commission. When we update a review based on new testing or new owner feedback, we note the change date on the page.

How prices on this site work

Each product page shows the manufacturer's MSRP and the date we last verified it directly on the manufacturer's website. The price you see at Amazon (or any other retailer) when you click through may be higher or lower — always confirm the live price at the retailer before buying.

FTC compliance

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires affiliate marketers to clearly disclose their relationships. We do so on every page that contains affiliate links, both above the content and inline near the link itself.
